PDay update 6/22/15

Hey guys!!

Sorry about not emailing you all last week.  Let me tell ya, it was rough. haha But I am very happy to say that this week has been really good.  Not because of a lot of amazing "whoa" experiences, but because it was finally LACKING in those. hahah It was finally a good, normal week.  =]

We have found a couple new investigators.  One is an older lady that Sister Leak and I found a little while ago.  Her name is Carolyn.  It was actually a REALLY great lesson!  For example, we taught her about the godhead and how we believe something different than the rest of the Christian world (the trinity).  We explained that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ both have bodies of flesh and bone and were two separate beings, and she said, "Well I believe that.  I thought it was common sense."   0___0  Whoa!  Hahah And she recognizes that her church doesn't teach that.  So it was a pretty good lesson.

Another investigator that we have started teaching is Sie's niece.  (We are also teaching Sie's wife.) ((Sie is a recent convert to the church who is really awesome.))  Her name is Akina.  She is about 10-11 years old and is a sweety.  We taught her about the godhead and she did pretty good. =]

We have been getting pretty serious with some of the less active members that we have been visiting.  One of the members we visit really struggles with the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity.  And when we go over there it never feels like we are able to help her to progress forward in any way.  So we got serious with her and we are setting up a time for her to meet with the bishop.

With another less active we have been working with, she just doesn't have a testimony anymore.  She doesn't see the importance in coming to church.  We started a fast with her yesterday but it was kind of a bust because she really wasn't looking for answers and said she has no intention of coming back to church. =/  Merp.

Hmm I'm trying to think of anything else I can let you guys know about.

Yesterday we team-taught this man who is atheist with the elders.  Whoa talk about intense.  He is a very nice man, but has a lot of beef with the bible.  Those lessons are good for me though, because then I can really see what I believe in and what I don't.  I have gained such a strong testimony with Heavenly Father.  That title means a lot to me.  "Father" means a lot to me.  First of all, I know that I love my dad bunches, and if anyone ever talked about him the way this man talks about God.....whoa.  Stuff would go down.  haha I guess it was just difficult to hear because I also love my Heavenly Father so much and I know that He loves ALL of us.  Very much.  But, like I said, it was a good experience for me.

I guess I just want all of you to know how much I encourage a mission for those considering it.  I have grown SOOOOO much.  I can't even begin to explain to you all how much I have gained from being a missionary.  I have different goals and desires for my life now than I did before and it is based off of the knowledge I have obtained here.  I cannot bear a strong enough testimony that would fully convey how NEEDED the gospel is in our lives.  We NEED to be giving our all.  We NEED to be doing the basics.  And we NEED a relationship with Heavenly Father. Being a missionary gives me the opportunity to see a little bit more clearly the perspective Heavenly Father has towards His children.  (In a VERY basic way though.)  What I mean is, I can see how much I love these people and how much I want them to progress.  I see how much happier they could be, how so much of the bad in their lives could be washed clean.  I see how frustrating it is when those we teach don't keep the commitments we extend.  It makes me realize how frustrating I must be to Heavenly Father sometimes. haha All together, just know how critical it is to be anxiously engaged in this gospel.

I love you all!!  Thank you for your emails!
