PDay update 4/27/15

Hello everyone!

Sooo my Monday last week was interesting.  Let me tell you!  So after we finished our P-Day we stopped by a potential we had named Carolyn.  She let us in and not too long after sitting down with her she opened up about a very traumatic experience she had when she was 7 years old.  She witnessed the death of her 3 year old sister and to this day still feels like it was her fault.  So we spent time with her comforting her and telling her about the love of Christ.  We had the elders come over and give her a blessing.  It was a really cool experience.  While we were talking with her I reached over and grabbed her hand to comfort her and she held on to my hand tightly for a good 5-10 minutes before I had to use my hand for something.  She needed love.  I absolutely love being a missionary because I get the chance to love SO many people. SO many!
Funny story about that visit though, she had someone there with her who is an older lady and she is REALLY deaf. haha Like, wow.  And Sister Leak was talking to her and she kept saying "What? huh??"  So Sister Leak just starts full on YELLING at this woman JUST so she can be heard and I can't help but start laughing but I like put my head down and tried to be discrete.  Well, that didn't work!  So the old lady asks "Why's she laughin'??" And in her yelling voice Sister Leak said, "Oh, she just likes to laugh!" hahahah AND SHE ACCEPTED THAT ANSWER!  She said, "Oh, ok." hahahahahahahahahahahahah We still joke about it.  It was so funny.  Oh my goodness.

Tuesday April 21 - Man! It rained today! The weather was finally starting to get nice outside!  But NOPE!  Just kidding.
So to start our day our lesson fell through. (Which is kind of funny because we made a back-up and we were like, oh that's a good back up.  Then I stopped and said "to God" that that doesn't mean we want our lesson to fall through!  And when we were at her door and she didn't answer I pointed to the sky and said, "We talked about this!" hahahah Missionary jokes.)
So we went and volunteered at an old folks gathering place.  That was good.  Then the McPhearson's took us to the Oriental Pearl for Chinese food. Other than that, we just went out finding for the rest of the day because all of our lessons fell through for the day.  (That's pretty normal.)

Wednesday April 22 - Today was Sister Leak's 6 month mark!  Whoo hoo! So I got her some ice cream at Houlton Farms Dairy Bar and we also went out for our dinner break. =]
So today we were supposed to have another lesson with Carolyn, but she caught a cold or the flu or something.  So instead our back-up plan was to go knocking, but the first house we went to there was a man outside gardening.  We asked him if we could help.  And he pretty much asked what the catch was.  We told him there wasn't one but he didn't believe us.   I finally got annoyed with him telling us that we didn't need to help because he thought we were going to ask for something because we're the mormons.  So I just dropped my bag and started helping anyway. hahaha He was digging holes to plant trees I think.  Well, one of the holes had a HUGE rock in it.  So we literally spent about 45 minutes trying to get this 1 1/2 foot long and 1/2 foot tall rock out of his yard.  I was in the outfit I am wearing in my new cover picture on facebook, so just try to imagine me in that digging a hole. hahaha Good times.  His name was Willard!  Funny!
So, instead of knocking at that time we ended up digging a rock out of a hole with Willard. hahaha

Thursday April 23 - Nothing fell through today!!  Whoa!! We saw Bernie today.  She is a less active member who is really trying to come back to church, but she works Sundays at Wal-mart.  She wants to ask them for every other one off.  I hope she gets it.  Satan likes to stick his nose into things like this and mess it up.
We also saw our investigators, Mary and Kim.  (Our investigators right now are Mary, Kim, Melanie, Carolyn, Michael and Bobby Jo, and Marlene.  4 of which are on date.)
For Mary we just read Alma 32 with her because she had read it but she had a hard time understanding it.  And with Kim we talked to her about the Holy Ghost and church mostly.  Not what we had planned, but that's where the Spirit took us. haha

Friday April 24 - Weekly Planning day.  Right after we finished we saw a less active member named Delores.  We planned to talk about the Plan of Salvation with her but it ended up being a Word of Wisdom lesson.  She just wasn't clear on some things about coffee.  After we went to see Aimee and her daughter Siri.  (Sounds like Sy-ree) She will be turning 8 in September and they want the missionaries to be teaching her.  She is really smart!
We saw Melanie.  It was a really good lesson with her.  We established our purpose and told her why we do this.  The Spirit was SO strong in that lesson.  It was pretty nifty.
Then we went out to Washburn and had dinner with Angie (less active member) and also Sister Jourden came over as well.  Angie struggles with buckling down and reading her scriptures so I suggested that Sister Jourden could read with her.  When I asked Sister Jourden she said, "No, because I'm not reading myself."  AH!  What?!  ONE PROBLEM AT A TIME!  hahaha I was trying to work with Angie and then OH surprise! Sister Jourden needs help now.  It was kind of funny actually.

Saturday April 25 - We went knocking for 2 hours today.  No one on that whole street was interested.  haha good times. =] Then we had dinner with a less active member.  It was our first time really getting the chance to get to know her.  It was a good visit. Brandi loves being Mormon, but she puts all of the members up on a pedestal and thinks that they are so much better than her because she has lived a rough life.  She still has some things she struggles with and so she doesn't feel like she is good enough.  Finally I asked her if she felt like God loves her.  And she said she really didn't know.  =/  But I can tell you that as a representative of Jesus Christ, I could feel how much He loves her.  And it's a whole lot!!  We invited her to pray to ask if He loved her.  Because I think what she needs to feel is that He truly does love her. <3 She is a sweetie and we love her.

Sunday April 26 - We really didn't have anything exciting today.  There was a stake conference that included the whole north-eastern part of the United States and Canada.  That was cool. =]  Elder Andersen and Elder Hales spoke.  We went back to that street that we spent 2 hours knocking and tried the doors that didn't answer.  AND SOMEONE WAS INTERESTED!  Yes!!  Hopefully we can see her soon. =]

Well, I have to wrap this up because I have 20+ emails to respond to and I only have an hour left. BUT I LOVE YOU ALL! <3 =D

Love, Sister Creager

P.S Thursday it will be 9 months since I entered the MTC.  O___O

P.P.S
2 funny stories.

1. We went knocking and we took a member with us who is preparing for a mission and one of the doors we knocked a lady yelled through the door "NO ONE'S HOME!" I seriously didn't even know what to say!!  I just said. ".....ok?"  Sister Leak said "Have a nice day!" hahaha Good times.

2. We were talking to someone on the street and having a good conversation and we got talking about the Book of Mormon.  Sister Leak went to pull out a Book of Mormon to show her something and as soon as she did the lady tripped out and ran away!!!  WHAT?!
