hey everyone!
I am just going to do a quick run down of my week for you. =]
Tuesday April 14-It was kind of a up in the air day because we did our backups at the wrong times and so we were doing things completely differently from how we had planned. hahaha Also, we had dinner at a members house (not saying who) and we asked them if they would share the Because He Lives video with friends and they flat out told us no! haha What? I didn't know what to do with that. hahaha Last I checked member missionary work was a thing. Good times. haha
We went to another members house after that and they were really cool. they moved from Utah about 8-9 months ago. (Hey me too! haha) and I really enjoyed getting to know their family.
Wednesday April 15- Our last District Meeting! After district meeting Sister Leak and I used our lunch break to go to Houlton Farms Dairy Bar. =] So good.
When we came back we went to Fort Fairfield and we had a lesson with Connie. She told us that she hadn't read the Book of Mormon and couldn't bring herself to do it. She said she didn't feel it was right. Sooo I told her that I have never tried octopus, so I can't honestly say I don't like it. Same for the Book of Mormon. Until she reads it, she can't say that it's not true. And a whole lot of other things were said and we resolved it and she committed to reading the Book of Mormon. =]
(we had a lesson with her today but she just called us and canceled because she isn't feeling well.)
Thursday April 16- It was the day of less active members today! hahaha We saw 3 (sort of 4) less active members today. One of them was Iris. I really love her to bits. =] She's such a sweetie. She is supposed to be receiving a calling in the Primary or nursery, but she hasn't been to church yet. It would be so good for her.
Also, we went to the O'Connells tonight and Brother O'Connell is a psychologist. AND he's super cool! So I talked to him about what could cause anxiety for myself and he told me that it sounds like in my situation I have too much adrenaline and stuff. And he gave me some tips for bringing it down. (WITHOUT MEDS =D haha) That's my favorite part about him. He always prefers to go with the natural way before going with the synthetic. Cool doctor. =] ALSO!!!!! HE KNOWS ABOUT COLOR PSYCHOLOGY!! =D =D =D =D I highly enjoyed my visit with him.
Also, we taught Mary tonight and we got through the first half of the Plan of Salvation. Things seem to be making more sense for her now. =]
Friday April 17-Last weekly planning of the transfer! We went out for our lunch break to a restaurant here. It is called Governors. =]
We went knocking for a bit today. It was really nice out. I used to dread knocking because I knew that I would freeze! But lately we've been going out without coats. And I can wear normal shoes again!
Tonight we went with Sister Stepp to do her visiting teaching. And the member we saw is less active with a lot of health problems and smoking problems. And while she was listing off her problems it just really sounds like her life is miserable. =/ At the close, she wouldn't say the closing prayer, but we convinced her that it would be ok. And while she was praying (never had this happen before.) But I was so overwhelmed with the feeling of how Heavenly Father feels about her that I cried. I could feel the He is worried about her and how much He loves her. I was a little emotional for a few minutes afterwards. haha Heavenly Father truly loves all of His children. Even though we make bad choices, He is more sad than angry with us. And I felt that for a brief moment. It was really sad.
Saturday April 18- Today was a good day. =] We saw some members and we did some different finding activities. The funnest part of the day would probably be when we heart attacked our investigator's doors. We cut out paper hearts and wrote on them and we taped them (secretly) to their doors. =] Some of the houses were intense!! Because they almost heard us or saw us! haha But we did it! This is such good missionary work. BECAUSE this shows them that they are more than an appointment to us. =] That we really DO love them. <3
Sunday! April 19- We got Transfer Letters! I am staying here with my same companion. =D yay! but our district leader and Sister Training Leader are leaving. Our STL is ACTUALLY going to go to Bay Roberts and be companions with SISTER HOY for her last transfer!! AH! I love Sister Hoy. <3
After church there was a linger longer for the ward. That was fun. =]
Then we went to see Brandy. She is a recent convert who has decided to go on a mission! So we are working with her on that. OH and we also went to the Morrows for dinner. Their family is so cool and their daughter Sarah just got off of her mission a few months ago. She is really cool. Her name is Sarah and she served in England.
Then we went to Fort Fairfield to see someone. We were talking with a mother of a girl who is baptized and active, but she herself is against being baptized. She has issues with organized religion and feels there is too much hypocrisy because she has known that some of the aaronic preists shouldn't have been passing the sacrament. And this is where is gets weird for me, because what I told her next was SUPER bold and NOT from me. This was a moment when God spoke through me. Because I don't think I would have been so bold with her. But I told her that just because a kid in our class is cheating doesn't make the teacher wrong. That person is only cheating themselves. But, if we decide to get up and walk out of the classroom and not take the test because we don't agree with that person cheating, then we are cheating ourselves of the privileges we could have.
And the way I said it was a lot more bold than this, but I can't replicate it. Buuuuut it was pretty bold for someone I barely knew. hah. She didn't say anything about it and the topic changed, but I know she needed to hear that.
So that was my week! I took a lot longer than I thought I would. hahah
LOVE YOU ALL!
