Yay! Our email is working again!
Hey everyone!
This was a pretty good week. But as a side note...I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH SNOW IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!!!!!! It has snowed a lot and we have spent a lot of time doing inside stuff for missionary work. I have no idea what we would do without facebook, phones, and a former investigator book. Seriously though. So much snow.
Tuesday Feb 3- So last night after leaving Tracy's house for dinner we got a text from the mission saying that all missionaries have to be inside and no driving on the road. The roads were pretty bad. And the next morning SO MUCH SNOW FELL!! We had to shovel our car out because the tires were covered in snow. So we dug our way out and planned to drive to the church and do missionary work on facebook, BUT WE COULDN'T EVEN DRIVE INTO THE PARKING LOT!! AH! CANADA!! Sooooo it was a snowy day of working on the area book and making calls and such. Good times. Good times.
Wednesday Feb 4-We were able to go street contacting for a bit in the morning. Lots of people were out shoveling because they really have no choice. haha All the Canadians come together when it's time to shovel. haha It's like a bonding moment I think. haha =] Some other things we did today were go see Sister Bard Macdonald, go to help out with bingo, see a less active member named Tiffany, and we had a lesson with Heidi and Mary. =] So fun story. Heidi and Mary live in PIctou. Pictou has lots of hills. Our car can't do hills when there's snow. We had to be creative with how we got to some places. Good times. Love snow. -_- But it was a great lesson! We planned on teaching the restoration for Mary, but we ended up teaching about how to study the Book of Mormon and reviewed tithing for Heidi.
Thursday Feb 5- ZONE CONFERENCE! (So this is the part of the email that will freak my mom out. hahah) So today we had to drive to Cole Harbour for our Zone Conference. Let's just say that it was snowy. hahah I was going about 60 Kilometers an hour though, so like 40 MPH'ish. So we were fine. haha I am a slow driver anyways. ;] Zone Conference was really good. =] Afterwards we drove home and it started snowing again. The weather wasn't the best, but we were fine. We went home and stayed inside the rest of the night doing area book because of the weather.
Friday Feb 6- SO MUCH MORE SNOW!! I swear the whole ocean froze and fell from the sky here!! So luckily it was weekly planning day. So we spend the morning inside anyway. Then after that we went to help with bingo. Right now I have Tracy's violin because I am preparing a piece to hopefully perform sometime this month, so I took it to High crest (nursing home) and played a little for the residents. One cute little old lady, Dorothy, came in the room dancing. hahahaha funniest and cutest thing ever. hahaha We spent a lot of our time doing facebook finding stuff and avoided the outdoors. (Been doing that a lot lately.) Then we had a lesson with Karolanne. Sister Johnson is perfect for her because Sister Johnson is kinda more shy, but used to be really shy. So she relates to Karolanne a lot with that. That's something I can't relate to at all. hahahaha
Saturday Feb 7- We got a lot done today and most of our time was spent inside! We are getting the hang of winter missionary work! hahah It's a challenge for sure because we really have to think outside the box. But it's working! We even had a lesson over skype with a member who lives about 30 minutes away in the boonies. haha And since the roads are bad and we couldn't make it, we figured skype would still work. And it was great! Need to do that more often! Especially since the church is only a minute away. (If that.) And we got some solid potential investigators today too. =] It was a good day!
Sunday Feb 8-This was a busy Sunday. haha Sister Johnson spoke in sacrament and we taught Gospel Principles AND Relief Society. Phew! Lots to do! hahah But it all went good. =] Then we saw Sister Wilson, as usual. =] I took the violin and played her the song I've been practicing. She liked it. =] Tried contacting a referral, but he wasn't home again. We had a lesson with some members in the branch. It was good. =] I like teaching members. =] After that we went knocking and HOLY GOODNESS it was cold. Geez. hahah So yeah. Then we worked on the maps and stuff.
So that's pretty much my week!
I have recently discovered a love for the Ensign! I am reading them in my FREE time. And they have exactly what I need. (Plus, pictures. hahah Definitely catches my attention. I'm super visual.) So, if you haven't read the January or February Ensigns yet, you should definitely look them up! There are some really good stories in them. =]
As well, I was reading in John chapter 3 and verse 12 stood out to me. It says,

"If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ya
believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"
Just something to ponder I guess. It can stand out to everyone in different ways.
LOVE YOU ALL! Stay warm!
