PDay update 3/9/15

Hello everyone!!

So to start off with!  I am being transferred on Thursday to Presque Isle MAINE!  Going back to the states!  Haha the Canadians can't handle me anymore. ;]
I am actually REALLY excited because when asked if I could serve anywhere else I always said Maine. =]  I am going to be white washed into the area.  This will be fun. =]  My companion is Sister Leak.  She has been on her mission 4 months now. =]  AND my Sister Training Leader SPEAKS JAPANESE!  I have been wanting to meet for FOREVER! I am pumped!  ALSO Sister Bowden will be in my district! =]  Good things ahead.  Good things. =]

Tuesday Mar 3- We had a lesson with our investigator, Robert.  He is a man who is 76 and a total sweetheart.  He is really sincere.  I love teaching him. =]  He gets distracted a lot, but that's ok. =]
We did lots of different finding activities throughout the day.  Nothing too thrilling to report.  But something awesome was at the end of the day a potential we had met at the post office came to the church to do family history work with Sister Dowell and he asked for a tour and she was sooo good!  Sister Dowell just jumped right in and took him around!  he took 3 of the pamphlets AND a Book of Mormon!  He's a funny guy, and he's awesome!

Wednesday Mar 4- Last district meeting in New Glasgow district.  We had it in Truro today actually.  Afterwards we went to lunch with the Truro sisters.  It was nice. =]
Sadly, we had 3 lessons cancel on us this night. =/  Bummer deal.  But it was still a good day. =] I really don't have much to talk about though.

Thursday Mar 5- Today was weird.  It didn't go as we had planned. haha We went to Antigonish for the day.  Antigonish is 45 minutes away from New Glasgow so we planned to be there a while.  But there wasn't a whole lot that we could do.  And we tried to talk to the University there about setting up a hot chocolate stand.  It was kind of a gong show.  After walking around forever we finally found someone to talk to about it and when I was almost done filling out the application they told us it would be around $200 to rent a table.  But the lady said since it would be free that they might not charge us.  Because we aren't making profit, just giving away free hot chocolate.  (And wanting to talk to people about the gospel. he-he-he.) OH!  Cool thing!  We tried to meet less active members while out there and when we went to visit someone I was really thirsty.  She wasn't going to let us in because she wasn't feeling good but Sister Johnson asked for a glass of water for me.  She let us right in!  And then Sis J asked if we could sing her a hymn before we left.  She ended up inviting us in to sit on her couch and we sang her 3 songs!  She said that she truly felt better after that.  That was pretty cool!!
That night we went to the Bailey family's home.  We had dinner and shared a thought about sincere prayer from the October 2012 Ensign.  It was a really nice visit. =]  They Bailey's are nice.  Sister Bailey had us sit on the couch and took a picture because she wanted to send them to our moms. =]  I love that lady. =]

Friday Mar 6- Weekly planning day! Today was a good day.  We had our apartment inspections and they went well.  Brother Hodder does them and he is a member here in the branch.  Sweet man.  And COOLEST THING!  There is a less active, her name is Melanie, and she is like IMPOSSIBLE to contact.  She moved and didn't have a phone.  Only facebook.  And no one could get a hold of her!  WELL!  She messaged us on facebook and she allowed to meet with her THAT NIGHT!  She is SO solid!  She was baptized 4 years ago in the valley.  (Windsor, NS) and she reads and prays every night!  She needs help to get back to being an active member and some things, but she WANTS to!  AH!  So sad to have to leave this.  It is going to turn out great I know it. =]

Saturday Mar 7-We went to Westville today and knocked.  Our first contact was cool for me.  He actually seemed to have something click when we talked about having a prophet on the Earth today.  His name was Stephen.  I think he could feel the Spirit testifying.  Even if it was just a little bit. We had another lesson with Robert today. =]  We re-taught the restoration because we wanted him to really understand it.  It was a great lesson. =]  We had a lesson fall through, but we were able to meet with a less active.  It was an intense lesson with him because he knows that the church is true and that he should be doing things and shouldn't be doing some other things, but his dedication is more towards his friends than the Savior.  It's sad. =/  Hope things work out for him.

Sunday Mar 8- Found out about transfers today!  I'm sad and excited.  We went to say goodbye to Sister Wilson after church.  That was difficult.  We also had dinner at the Mackinnon's house.  I really really love their family.  They are so real and genuine.  And I enjoy talking with them all.  After that we had a lesson with Melanie again.  We taught the restoration.  (She has agreed to be retaught all of the lessons) She is SOLID!  AH!
Aaanndd I stayed up a little bit and I finished my packing last night. haha No seriously.  It's like.  Done. haha And I only went to bed at midnight. ;]

Well, I am short on time this week.  So I will end it with that.
I love you all!!  Thank you for all you do!
Are you excited for conference?! =D
Try going to conference with questions and I can promise that they will be answered.  =]
