PDay update 12/29/14

Hope Christmas was great!!
I had a lot of fun!! I loved talking to my family!! Video calls are the best thing ever invented!!
Christmas here was so weird! I'm pretty sure my call letter said Canada, but the weather here tells me otherwise! It was 15 Celsius on Christmas!!! AND IT RAINED! What?! hahaha Where even am I? I like it though. The weather makes contacting a lot easier haha Don't have so bundle up SO much quite yet.

Mon Dec 22- Hahaha so today was funny because after we finished our P-Day
we went to Tracy's house for dinner. It was really nice! Tracy is an amazing
cook and she is awesome! I love her. =] After we went to go see Joyce and we
helped her set up her Christmas tree. I love her too haha She's adorable. She
always feeds us whenever we come over. And this time, she was like, "Do you
like Chinese food?" haha and we're like, "Yeah." And so she told her husband to
go out and buy us Chinese food. And we're like, "No we already had a big
dinner." And She's like, go get them some Chinese food. hahaha We're like,
what?! No. We had dinner.
After, we realized that in Nova Scotia, dinner means lunch. hahaha We should have totally said supper. So we had two dinners that night. lol

Tues Dec 23- Joseph Smith's birthday! =D
We baked cookies and put them in Christmas bags and attached a Christmas quote and took them to some members and less active members this day. That's no lie, what we did all day. haha OH! Except, we went over to see Karolanne. She is Dwayne's daughter and she wants to learn Japanese. So I taught her and her friend some basic sounds of Japanese for a while and then after her friend left I taught her a mini lesson about God. She asked why we come out on missions and I told her it's because I know that God loves me and I know that God loves you. And that there are a lot of people in the world who don't know that. And we had a mini lesson and now she's investigating!! =D

Wed Dec 24- District meeting!! It was really good. We had a discussion
about faith. Definitely was one of the best ones I've had. We took more
cookies to people today and it was great! We also went to Dwayne's house and they
had snacks all out for us (elders and sisters) and they gave us presents! =]
After we went to the Mackinnon's house for Chinese food. =] It was good. =]
Then we went to Ivy's Terrace and sang Christmas Carols for the residents.
That was a lot of fun. =]
Thurs Dec 25- CHRISTMAS DAY!! We started our day with a little Christmas
devotional thingy as a companionship, and then we had a mission-wide conference
call devotional kind of thing. We opened all our presents and it was great!
Everyone is so nice to the missionaries. =] We then went for Christmas breakfast
at the Wood's house. It was so good. =] We gave the elders their funny
presents and the elders gave us presents. They asked me what I wanted and I
said pickles and ham. And they're like, "No, we're not getting that. What do
you want?" and I told them that I seriously want pickles and ham!! SO GUESS
WHAT THEY GOT!! =] Pickles. and. Ham. B-| Ham is almost gone now. hahahahah
=] Then we had Christmas dinner (lunch) at Tracy's house. THAT was sooo good.
We played some board games for a bit and then we came to the church for Sister
Hoy to call home. I sat in the gym laying on the ground staring at the
ceiling. Really though. hahaha I was bored. haha THEN I GOT TO CALL HOME!!! AND
I CRIED SO HARD BUT I LOVED IT AND IT WAS AWESOME AND A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!
Yes. Good. I loved it. =]
Fri Dec 26- Today was a good day. We had two lessons. One was with Wanda, who is a former investigator, AND SHE IS NOW ON DATE!!!! =D We also had a lesson with Karolanne today too! We taught her the Plan of Salvation. =] (Pretty much sums up my day.)
Sat Dec 27- Today we did a lot of stuff for the branch council. So the plans we made didn't actually happen and we spent the day running errands and delivering things. BUT it was a very good day!
Sun Dec 28- Today was GREAT!! YOU KNOW WHY!?! Because HEIDI came to church and she brought her son and TRACY came to church!!!! =D =D =D =D =D =D Heidi said she loved it and that she can see herself joining. =] She is golden!! Golden investigator! She is amazing and a total sweetheart. So excited for her!! It was so awesome! And like a funny theme that happened was someone spoke about Baptism, our lesson in Gospel Principles just so happened to be on baptism, and also, the lesson we were on for Heidi was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Which is Faith, Repentance, BAPTISM, receiving the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End.)

It was a good week. =] Lots of good things happening in the New Glasgow
area!
Just as a brief testimony, I want you all to know that this is the same church of Christ that was on the Earth when He was on the Earth. These are His teachings and His doctrine. This is His gospel and it is all truth. I know that this is the ONLY way to return to our Father in Heaven again. Being on a mission, I know that after I have served my full mission, I will be able to return to my parents and see them again, and they know that too. But imagine, Heavenly Father sent His children to Earth knowing that He would not get to have some of them live with Him again. That is heartache beyond what I can comprehend. But He knew that we needed to grow. I know that if I had stayed home, I would not be able to grow into the person God wants me to be. Same with if I had not come to Earth. God has a plan for us, and He knows us. Moses 1:39. He wants our happiness. I know that He sent His Son to the Earth to redeem His children, and I know that Christ leads the way for us to return. I know my Redeemer lives. And I love Him.
