She got her a coat! She said it was down filled and warm so I hope it lasts her whole mission :)
\
She sent this picture of a tree near her apartment.
She told me she helped her companion by teaching her Guided Imagery to help her relax. Her companion said she loved it and thought it was cool how it helped her.
Since this was after General Conference she told she loved Elder Bednar's talk and the Closing Prayer that asked to bless Missionaries Parents and Grandparents. I really enjoyed watching Conference knowing that she was watching it at the same time in Canada :)
There is a Missionary Mom that wrote a Poem that I shared with her that I want to share here. She said she printed it to keep it with her.
I'm just a missionary mom
I'm just a missionary mom. I have a child out. What is she (he) doing today?
Did you get enough to eat? Did you sleep well? Is your companion your best
friend? Were you warm enough today? Do your feet ache after a rough day? These
are my thoughts all day long, because I love you, because I worry, because
I am a missionary mom.
Did you see my child today? Did she (he) knock on your door? Did you offer her something cool to drink? Or did you slam the door? Please don't be angry with my child. She (he) is just serving the Lord. Please don't cuss at my child, she (he) is there trying to help you get to God someday. I think of these things because I am a missionary mom.
Did you know, that Monday is my day too? I sit and wait for your email! I want to hear, did you have any baptisms this week? Did you teach the Gospel? Did you feel the spirit today? Were your appointments successful? I wait breathless, because I am a missionary mom. Were you able to get fed today? Did you laugh and take a deep breathe? Were you able just to see God's work all around you in each face, each cloud, and every child? I see art work that God has done with you, because I am a missionary mom.
Each letter I write, each package that I send to you, I wonder, did you like it? did that make you happy? Did it give you a little love from home? I do this for you because I am a missionary mom.
Each day I am on my knees asking God to protect you and your companion, and all the missionaries all around the world. I have other moms who are my friends, because they too are missionary moms. We pray for you, miss you, love you and think of you every day, because we are missionary moms.

"So this week was a pretty slow week. We are always busy but never
seem to get everything done hahah It's great. =] Always engaged and always have
work to do.
So first off, General Conference was great! We went to all 4 sessions at the church. My favorites were Elder Uchtdorf's and Elder Bednar's talks. I loved how Elder Uchtdorf related science to religion. He did a fabulous job of putting it into perspective. If you have not yet heard this talk, I highly recommend it. =] It was in the first session on Saturday (I think) haha
Also, I really liked how Elder Bednar explained why we love to share the gospel. It's not just a duty, it's because we are concerned for our brothers and sisters. It is so true. I really recommend this one as well. But to be honest, those are just the ones that stood out to me. There were also some great talks about the Savior, about staying in the boat, about the sacrament, parenting, the prophet, etc. Conference (as Sister L and I say) takes our little camp fire of faith and pours gasoline onto it to make a giant bonfire. =] This is so true! Conference is a true blessing! How blessed are we to have the opportunity to hear the words of God from our prophet and apostles!
V was able to come to 3 of the sessions. She really enjoyed one talk and wrote some great notes about it. I was so excited to see her taking notes and getting excited about Conference! Also, S was able to come to the last session. She had a lot of questions about church organization so it was fun to answer her questions.
So something we have been doing in a lot of our lessons is bringing two pop-cans and having whoever we teach drink one throughout the lesson. After the lesson is done we read Helaman 5:12. Then we take the full soda and stand on it. We then do the same to the empty can and the can is crushed. We then explain that little sips here and there drain us of the spirit (soda). It's not all at once and we don't notice it as much until it is gone. But when Satan shall send for his mighty storms (mighty foot haha) you want to be filled with the spirit so that you hold strong. =] Just wanted to share that. haha

We have exchanges again tonight! So this time I will be staying in
Wolfville and Sister L will be going to Halifax. I hope I know my way
around well enough to direct Sister M. haha
Also, President and
Sister L came to our apartment for personal interviews. It was nice to
get to know them both a little better. They are both almost done with their
service as the mission president and wife. They are both so kind and
inspiring. I'm really glad that they are our leaders. =]
OH! There is supposed to be a new movie coming out October 10th or so and
I think it is only showing in theaters for a couple of days. It is called Meet
the Mormons. I don't know if you have heard about it already or not, but if
enough people go to see it, then they might be able to release it for longer!
We want this!! This is a great thing that the general authorities are
promoting. We want investigators of the church to know what we are like and to
get a feel of our beliefs. We have been given the gift of agency, but if we
don't know about something we can't make a choice. This is why we must always
be active missionaries! There are many of God's children who have been prepared
and are ready for the gospel in their lives! =] It's our job to share what we
have and offer and invite them to learn more. And if they say no, they were
given that agency to choose. Missionary work is so important! =] And it is a
great and marvellous work.
That's all I can really say for this week. There wasn't a lot that
happened, but we are working hard to get on track. I am so thankful for all of
your support from all of you! I have the best Utah family. =]
I love you all!! =]
Have a great week!
